Newhall Surgery are pleased to announce that we have been awarded a ‘Carer Friendly Quality Mark’.
The Carer Friendly Quality Mark is a framework of quality markers designed to improve how GP practices identify and support carers.
The framework focuses on six key areas to better support carers:
- Identification and Registration: Proactively identifying carers and maintaining a dedicated register.
- Holistic Support: Addressing the health and wellbeing needs of the carer, not just the patient.
- In-Practice Support: Training staff (e.g., via a Carer Ambassador) to understand carer needs.
- Appointments and Access: Providing flexible or double appointments and offering flu vaccinations.
- Information and Communication: Ensuring carers are aware of support services.
- Culture: Promoting a “carer-friendly” environment.
This recognition reflects our commitment to identifying, supporting, and valuing unpaid carers in our community.
