PLEASE NOTE THERE IS A NEW PROCESS FOR REQEUSTING FOR MEDICATION FROM 9TH SEPTEMBER 2019, PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR FURTHER INFORMATION.
Have you run out of your medication? The Surgery classes a prescription that needs to be issued and ready on the same day or following day as an emergency prescription.
Our usual prescription turn around time is 48 hours, Monday to Friday, e.g. if you requested for your prescription on Monday, this would then be ready on Wednesday after 12noon. All prescriptions need to be reviewed by a doctor, updated, printed and signed. This is a lengthy process.
The ordering of emergency prescriptions is monitored and will be recorded on your medical record. If the items requested are available “Over the Counter” at the Pharmacy e.g. Paracetamol, you will be advised that your request will need to be requested online or via the Medicines Order Line within the usual 48 hours and will not be issued as an emergency.
If you require an emergency prescription as defined above, before 16:00, you will need to contact the Medicines Order Line who will be able to arrange this for you. If you require an emergency prescription after 16:00, you will need to visit reception to request for your medication in writing and then either you or your representative will need to come back to collect your prescription at 17:30.
Please remember, this is YOUR prescription therefore YOUR responsibility.
