Temporary Residents

If you are ill whilst away from home you can receive emergency treatment as a temporary resident from the local GP practice. To be registered as a temporary resident, you must be staying with somebody who is already a registered patient here at the Surgery.

You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months. This will allow you to be seen at this surgery and still remain a patient of your permanent GP. After three months, you will have to re-register as a temporary patient or permanently register with this practice.

To register as a temporary patient simply contact us on 01283 217092.   Practices do not have to accept you as a temporary patient although they do have an obligation to offer emergency treatment. You cannot register as a temporary patient at a practice in the town or area where you are already registered.

Before you are given an appointment we would ask you to contact your current GP Surgery and ask them to fax us on 01283 551997 with a summary of your medical history including any allergies, sensitivities or medication you are taking. We would also ask that you arrive 30 minutes prior to your appointment to ensure we have you registered on the system and have all the necessary completed forms.
